Live Streaming of Sunday services
If you know of someone who is unable to attend church in person and would like an online service, a live stream is still provided on the St Mary’s Frampton on Severn Facebook Page, as well as the Church of England uploading a weekly service to their website.

A new type of service at St James the Great Saul
During the summer months, on the second Sunday of the month we will be offering a Celtic style service of evening prayer at 1800., The service is based on one created by the Northumbrian community who describe celtic spirituality as follows “Celtic spirituality is a nature-revering, mystical tradition originating in the British Isles, emphasizing the sacredness of everyday life, the presence of God in creation, and “thin places” where heaven and earth meet. It blends ancient indigenous practices with Christianity, prioritizing community, hospitality, and a close relationship with nature.” The service is designed to be a gentle, calming end to the day. All are welcome.

Eco Tip – small things we can do to help care for God’s creation
April Eco- Tip from A Rocha
Celebrate new life this Easter and have a go at
growing something! April is the perfect time to try
to grow something edible or, if you are a seasoned
gardener, to encourage someone else to try. Salad
leaves or herbs are a great place to start and willl
reduce your reliance on those oh-so-convenient
supermarket salad bags.
For indoor space, try ‘micro-greens’ (vegetable
leaves harvested soon after they open)
For greenhouses, try sowing salad leaf seed mixes.
For outdoors, beetroot, lettuce, onion and pea
plants are frost-resistant so can all be planted
outside in April.
As you sow, thank God for the opportunity to grow
food, and pray for those communities that are
facing food shortages and famine.

Preaching Series 2026
This year’s preaching service is going to be based on the Bible Society book ‘The Bible Course’. There will be weekly posts on social media and resources will be included in the weekly email. The series will begin on June 7th.
The Bible study group that meets at Stonehouse will be looking at the Bible Course

7pm – 8.30pm

Fretherne church will once again be hosting cream teas on 14th June from 1430-1630 – please see the poster here and spread the word!
Revd Leah’s ordination to the priesthood
Revd Leah will be ordained priest on 27th June at 3pm in the cathedral. Everyone is welcome to come along to this very special service as we continue to support Leah in her vocation and ministry. She will preside at the Eucharist for the first time at a team service on 28th June at 10.30am at Leonard Stanley followed by refreshments and celebration.
Please be reassured this doesn’t mean Revd Leah is leaving us! Her curacy with us is for three to four years, so we will be blessed with her presence for some time yet!
Stroudwater Team Confirmation service 20th September.

Bishop’s Mission Weekend 9th – 11th October
In October a group of curates from across the diocese along with Bishop Robert will be helping us lead a mission weekend here in Stroudwater. There has been an initial meeting and the proposed theme of the weekend is sharing out stories – it is hoped to host events for our local communities to explore stories of faith in gentle accessible ways, round a fire toasting marshmallows, walking in the local area, through creative arts, and music. We will need people from our local worshipping communities to be part of planning and delivering the weekend in a variety of roles, so if you are interested please contact a member of clergy.
