Changes due to CORONVIRUS

Guidance for the Stroudwater team

update 24th March

24.3.20 I’m sure you will have heard the prime minister address the nation.  The points we need to note as a church are no churches to be opened, no baptisms or weddings.  Funerals but with very limited family members (the crem are saying no one other than minister and funeral director).
The building may be closed, but the church will continue praying and worshipping.
You can join us on Stroudwater Team Churches facebook page each day for 9am morning prayer 12 noon mid day prayer and 6pm evening prayer.

The big news of course is that public worship has been suspended for the foreseeable future in the Church of England. This on one hand will have an impact our life together as the people of God, on the other it offers us exciting opportunities to be the church in new and different ways.

You can  go onto the Church of England website to see the latest updates.

Lent courses – these are cancelled with immediate effect, home groups, study groups and so on are also cancelled or postponed

Worship

The Church of England website is  providing great online resources for worship

If you would like hardcopy of worship resources we can print and mail or drop off for you. Please send name and address to Liz Palin tv1stroudwater@gmail.com or to pennysumsion@gmail.com for an e-copy

Daily prayer. The clergy are maintaining a pattern of daily prayer which will be available on the Stroudwater Team Churches Facebook page in real time and for viewing later.

Dave and Sharon have a limited number of worship music on CDs to listen to or incorporate into one’s own prayer time. These range from traditional to modern, to Taize and contemplative. If you would like a CD email Dave at tv2stroudwater@gmail.com  and he will arrange a suitable delivery to you.

Contact.  We would value a list of names and phone numbers from each parish in order to stay in contact with the parishioners in the Team. If you are willing please send details to Liz Palin tv1stroudwater@gmail.com

I hope and pray that this is a time of re-imagening your faith and that you are able to connect deeply with Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Please don’t hesitate to email and encourage the members of your churches to be in contact if they would like a chat or help in some way.

God bless

Reverends Steve Harrison, Liz Palin and Dave Bishop
